The Art of Reading Histogram

Have you ever played with your camera and not knowing why there’s a graph displaying on the back of the image sometimes? Well..it’s called Histogram, which tells you information about your black and whites, highlights and shawdows, contrast and exposure of the image. It’s a standardize format and useful tool to truly analyze the information of your image, without being influence by the biased LCD screen (which varies greatly from camera to system to personal setting to the brightness of the environment which the LCD is viewed under…).

It takes some time to get used to reading this useful diagram. But here’s a pretty comprehensive article that explains it with examples: http://blog.epicedits.com/2010/01/13/how-to-read-image-histograms/
